Welcome to Restaurant Folium
Nestled in Birmingham’s historic and vibrant Jewellery Quarter, Restaurant Folium offers a unique dining experience that celebrates simplicity, craftsmanship, and the natural beauty of British ingredients.

Opened in 2017, Folium is co-owned and run by chef Ben Tesh and his partner Lucy Hanlon. Ben leads the kitchen solo — from butchering and cooking to plating and washing up — ensuring every dish is crafted with care, intention, and a personal touch.

Our cooking philosophy is rooted in bold, balanced flavours, using only the finest ingredients sourced from sustainable and ethical producers. The menu is ever-evolving, shaped by the rhythms of the British landscape and enriched by traditional techniques such as fermenting, pickling, and preserving.

We believe in thoughtful collaboration, building lasting relationships not only with farmers and fishermen but also with local artisans. Every detail, from the food to the tableware, is carefully considered. Our bespoke ceramics are created by Sarah Jerath, and all woodwork is handcrafted by Steve in Digbeth.
